List of Events 2nd August to 9th August 2013 

Friday night August 2nd

Welcome home to all visitors – event to be held in the parish hall.  Rambling House – stories, poetry, song, music and dance.

Saturday 3rd August

Morning: Village Walk led by Pádraig O’ Concubhair.  Re-live the Ballylongford of your youth and that of your ancestors.

Afternoon:  Photographic Exhibition – take a look back at school days, sports events, weddings.  This exhibition will run for the week.

Evening Banquet at 7 pm in the Listowel Arms Hotel for visitors and locals alike. 

Sunday 4th August

11.30 a.m. Mass for Immigrants

Mid-day Parish League – memories of great teams from the past and battles won and lost.

Afternoon: Platform Dancing – in the village.  Local musicians will perform.

Monday 5th August

Bus Tour – Music and song to shorten the journey to Carrig, Saleen, Lislaughtin, Asdee, Holy Well and other interesting sites.

Tuesday 6th August

Video show – after a well earned lie in there will be a video show in the Parish Hall.  John Lynch, a native of Kilgarvan, has over the years made many videos of life and events in North Kerry.  You might see yourself cutting turf or saving hay or have a good time at the Fleadh Ceoil.

Wednesday 7th August

A ramble around Bally – with evening mass in the Abbey.  An annual event.

Thursday 8th August

We all go to Carrigafoyle Castle – to recapture past times and be entertained by harpists and balladeers.

Friday 9th August

Opening of the local successful Oyster Festival – which will continue over the weekend finishing on Sunday night.
